Ambassador Coffee
The Arkansas City Ambassador Coffee will be held at 10 a.m. at Brick's, 301 S. Summit. Sponsoring this week's coffee is Nick Rogers DDS.

Blood sugar/Pressure check
1st & 3rd Thursday of each month - Hospice Care of KS provides free Blood Sugar & Blood Pressure checks, 10:30 am to Noon at the Arkansas City Senior Citizens Center.

Walnut Valley Woodcarvers
Will meet at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Cherokee Strip Museum.

Calling All Crafters
6 p.m. at the Arkansas City Public Library--East Meeting Room. Bring in any portable craft to work and socialize. Super Scrapbook entries may also be done at this time with the library's materials.

Pops concert
Arkansas City High School will be performing a Pops Concert at 7 p.m. this evening at the high school. The concert will feature everything from classic rock to bluegrass and R&B. Soloists Sarah Marten and Karissa Shimanek will be featured. The Senior Guys Quartet will also perform.

Library Opens Late
We will be opening one hour late (at 10am) to allow for a monthly staff meeting.

Honoring Ark City artist Howard R. Levy, 5:30-7 p.m., at the Area Arts Council, Burford Theatre, downtown Ark City.

Bingo
SHELTON BEATY Post #18 of the American Legion Hosts Bingo every Monday and Friday. Mini games start at 6:25 P.M. Regular games start at 7:00 P.M.
Hope to see you there. All proceeds benefit the local community.

Dance
The OK Country band will perform at the Senior Citizens Center from 7-10 p.m. Admission will be charged. Please bring finger foods.

Bill Post's annual open house
1 p.m. - Geuda Springs musician-songwriter Bill Post will hold his annual open house this Saturday at his musical heritage museum at his family farm west of Arkansas City. May 24th = Calling all 1983 Central High School Graduates - this is our 25th anniversary and we're being recognized as an honor class at the CHS Alumni Banquet. Plan now to join your classmates on May 24th at the table reserved for our graduating year!

12th Annual MAYB Basketball Tournament
May 30th = At the Gymnasiums in Ark City & Winfield.

Basketball camp
June 2nd-6th = Men's basketball coach Ben Proctor will be holding a basketball camp for kids grades 1-8. First- through third-grade players will play from 10:30-noon; fourth- through sixth-grade players will play from noon-2. Seventh- and eighth-grade players will play from 2-4.
Cost for the camp is $20, and anyone with questions or needing a registration form may contact Proctor at (620) 687-2390.

HAWK Writing Workshop, "Telling Your Story"
June 21st-22nd = Will be held at The Marriott-Tulsa Southern Hills, 1902 E 71st St, Tulsa, OK. he first day of the workshop will feature both fiction and nonfiction programs, master classes, and panel discussions. The second day will focus on the difficult issues of editors, agents, and publication. Participants will have the opportunity to submit manuscripts to be edited and critiqued by a member of the HAWK Publishing editorial staff.
