An emotional Jennifer Dawn Bowman shed tears Thursday afternoon in Cowley County District Court in Arkansas City after she avoided a jail sentence for the death of 2-year-old Davin Drake Manly.

Bowman was sentenced to 36 months of probation Thursday for the charge of involuntary manslaughter to which she had pleaded guilty Aug. 29 in the courtroom of Judge Jim Pringle.
