Shirley furthered her education by attending licensed practical nurse training at Blackwell School of Nursing. The school was owned and taught by the Felician Sisters of the eastern state, Massachusetts and New Jersey, graduating with highest honors in 1967. Shirley worked a brief time as a corrections officer, before the facility discovered her nursing ability. She also worked as a private sitter and traveling nurse for care. She was well known for her extreme intelligence, nursing skills and smiling face. Shirley was one of the greatest nurses who ever lived. She cared for her family, friends, coworkers and patients. She never met a stranger and was not just a nurse to one, but to all. Her hobbies include the following: reading, cooking, singing, dancing, family get-togethers, keeping track of family history and attending family school activities.
