Robert "Bob" Edwin Justice
Robert "Bob" Edwin Justice, 81, Arkansas City, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, at the Veterans Administration Transitional Living Care Facility.
Memorial Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at the Central Christian Church, located at 206 W. Central Avenue in Arkansas City. The Rev. Steve Chambers will officiate.
The casket will be open at the funeral home from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
He was born April 8, 1926, in Paragould, Ark., to Asa and Lorene (Bynum) Justice. He was raised and educated in Arkansas City and graduated with an advanced degree from Pittsburg State University. He served in the Navy as an Aviation Radioman Second Class during World War II; stationed in the Admiralty Islands from 1943 to 1945. He was honorably discharged in 1945 and returned to Arkansas City to marry Sarah E. Morgan. They were wed April 12, 1947, in Newkirk, Okla.
Robert had many vocations while residing in Arkansas City. After the war, he was a foreman for Acton Manufacturing Company in Arkansas City. Later, he took a job with the Boeing Company located in Wichita. After 18 years of employment with Boeing as a welder, he was asked to help Cowley College establish a welding program. He then spent the next 26 years at Cowley College as an instructor. He retired in 1991.
Robert was a ham radio operator and volunteered his services to the Arkansas City Civil Defense during crisis situations. He was an active member of the V.F.W, the American Legion, and the D.A.V.
Survivors include his wife of almost 61 years, Sarah; son, Terry Justice, of Wichita; daughter, Karen Baird and her husband, William (Bill) Baird; grandson, Patrick Baird; granddaughter, Brooke Denney; and a great-grandson, Ethan Denney; a brother, Douglas Howe; a sister, Freda Beeson and her husband, Hugh Beeson, all from Arkansas City; one niece and numerous nephews, friends, and former students.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Doris DeMart, Louise Justice; and a brother, Harold Justice.
A memorial has been established with the Central Christian Church.
The family asks that those unable to attend be in prayer for remembrance of his life.

Frank Craig
Frank Craig, 86, Udall, died Wednesday evening, Feb. 20, 2008, at the Via Christi/St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, at the Udall United Methodist Church. Private interment will be held at a later date.
Born Jan. 8, 1922, in Udall, he was the son of Charles and Bessie Emmaline (Stout) Craig. He was employed with Derby Oil, Colorado Oil & Gas and Sinclair Oil, where he worked in the accounting departments.
Survivors include nieces, Sharon Smith, Beaumont, Texas, Beverly Russell, Udall, Judith Goodwin, Overland Park; nephews, Gary Blankenship, Davenport, Wash., and Robert Craig, Johnstown, Colo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Craig; and his sister, Laura Blankenship.
Memorials have been established for Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, the Udall Public Library and the Udall First Responders. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Robert L. Furnas, 63, of Talahena, Okla., formerly of Oxford, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at the Talahena Veterans Health Center in Talahena, Okla.
Services are pending and under the direction of the Oxford Funeral Service, Oxford.
Gertrude Goulden Nagel
Gertrude Goulden Nagel, 92, Arkansas City, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at the South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center in Arkansas City.
Cremation has been effected. A private family service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City.
Samuel D "Fuzzy" Johnson
Samuel D "Fuzzy" Johnson, 95, of Arkansas City, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at the South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center. Cremation has been effected.
Samuel was born Dec. 9, 1912, in Springfield, Mo. He and his wife made their home in Arkansas City where he worked as a tree trimmer.
Survivors include one son, Albert L. Podschun, of Arkansas City; stepdaughters, Camilla Klauk, Linda Henson, Delores Fleetwood Canaday, and Donna Jones; one stepson, Robert A. Podschun; and numerous grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Idabelle Johnson; an infant grandson; his companion, Betty Lou Bangs Podschun; an infant stepson, and one step daughter.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City.
