Wanda (Brown) Burdick
Wanda (Brown) Burdick, 86, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, at the Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, at Swisher-Taylor & Morris Chapel. Interment will be in the Highland Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 3-8 p.m. today.
Born Oct. 9, 1921, in Niotaze, she was the daughter of Fred and Edna G. Brown. She worked at the Pittsburg USD 250 schools in maintenance until retirement.
Survivors include her sons, Fred Burdick and Glen Burdick, both of Joplin; daughters, Barbara Crawford, Wichita, Jan Adams, Wichita, Carol Carlon, Mulvane, and Rosa Cowger, Medford, Okla.; sister, Nadine Walker, Arkansas City; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Burdick; three brothers; and one sister.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home, Winfield.
Thelma J. Harper
Thelma J. Harper, 62, Winfield, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at her home.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, at Swisher-Taylor & Morris Chapel. Private interment will be held at a later date.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 3-8 p.m Wednesday.
Born May 24, 1945, in Okmulgee, Okla., she was the daughter of Johnson Harjo and Dorothy Ellis. She was a CNA at William Newton Hospital and the Good Samaritan Village retiring in 2007.
Survivors include her daughters, Georgia Harjo, Winfield, Margaret Washington, Oklahoma City, Angela Latchison, Atlanta, Ga.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Robert "Bob" Edwin Justice
Funeral services for Robert "Bob" Edwin Justice, 81, Arkansas City, who died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at the Central Christian Church. The Rev. Steve Chambers officiated. Interment was in the Springside Cemetery.
Military honors were by the United States Navy Honor Guard, Wichita.
Organist was Brenda Combs. Special music was by Jim Miller.
Casket bearers were Sean Wallace, Dan Beeson, Jeff Moore, Mark Beeson, Chad Beeson, Todd Beeson and Mark McCaslin.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City.
Charles "Chip" Potucek
Charles "Chip" Potucek, 44, of Wichita, formerly of Oxford, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008, in Wichita.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at the Holy Name Catholic Church in Winfield. Interment will be in the Oxford Cemetery.
Prayer vigil and rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday evening at Oxford Funeral Service. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday.
Born July 27, 1963, in Wellington, he was the son of Joseph K. and Joan Trimble Potucek. Chip worked construction in Tulsa.
Survivors include his sons, Chris Potucek, of Phoenix, Ariz., Daniel Potucek, of Wichita; daughter, Amanda Potucek, of Clovis, N.M.; brothers, Mike Potucek, of Haysville, Jim Potucek, of Oxford, and David Potucek, of Oxford; sisters, Anna Russell, of Wellington, Sara Olmsted, of Delphos, Kan., Jane Hamilton, of Oxford, Jode Jones, of Cleveland, Okla., and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Allison Angel Acosta, 43, Wal-Mart bakery employee, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2008.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008, at the West Side Church of the Nazarene, 2300 S. Seneca, Wichita.
Survivors include her son, Justin Marsh, of Slidell, La.; daughter, Krista Marsh, of Arkansas City; parents, Peggy Acosta, of Arkansas City, Jesse and Carlene Acosta, of Wichita; brothers, Jesse Acosta III, and Tony Acosta, Sr.; grandmother, Aurora Acosta, all of Wichita.
