Harold Branson
Harold Branson, 82, of Blackwell, Okla., formerly of Wellington, died Saturday, April 26, 2008, at the Hillcrest Manor in Blackwell, Okla.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday May 2, 2008, at the Hawks Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Wellington. Private family interment will be in the Sumner Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday.
He was born April 4, 1926, in Coats, Kan., the son of Joseph Orin and Mildred L. McGaughey Branson. Harold owned and operated "Branson Construction" as a construction contractor from 1951 until his retirement in 1991.
Surviving to honor his memory are his son, Dennis Branson, of Fredrick, Md.; daughter, Cynthia Helmer, of Winfield; sister, Doris Foresman, of Blackwell; five grandchildren; and companion Melva Schalk, of Blackwell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eona (Alexander) Branson in 1997; two brothers; and two sisters.
A memorial has been established with the Faith Hospice of Blackwell. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
