Jerry D. Bell

Jerry D. Bell, 69, retired City of Wichita electrical inspector, died Saturday, April 26, 2008. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2008, in Riverview Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Jane; children, Scott and Doug Clendening; brother, Jim; sisters, Florence Beal and Joyce Crow; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, James; mother, Irene; sister, Sharon; and brother, Gene.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Baker Funeral Home, Wichita.


Keenen Michael Brooks

Keenen Michael Brooks, 13, former Newkirk resident, died Friday morning, April 25, 2009, at Children's Mercy Hospital, Kansas City, Mo. Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2008, at Christ's Church with the Rev. Stephen Harshman officiating. Interment will follow in the Newkirk Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home until 9 p.m. Thursday and until noon on Friday. Born June 1, 1994, in Winfield, he was the son of Alvernia Dawn Brooks and Dennard Cecil Hutchinson. Keenen was an honor student. He enjoyed his math and science classes. He played the viola in the school orchestra during his fifth, sixth and seventh grades, and he participated in track and field, with a specialty in hurdles. At the time of his death he was in the eighth grade at West Junior High in Lawrence. Survivors include his mother, Alvernia Dawn Brooks, of Lawrence; his father, Dennard Hutchinson Sr., of Coleman, Fla.; grandparents, Carl and Conelious Riley, of Newkirk, Artis and Jesse Hutchins, of Mount Dora, Fla., and Vivian Davis, of Hopewell, Va.

Memorial funds have been established with St. Jude's Children's Hospital for Cancer Research and with the Victory Junction Gang Camp, a camp for children with health issues. Contributions may be made through Eastman National Bank, Box 468, Newkirk, OK 74647-0468. Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller-Stahl Funeral Service, Newkirk.


Jack Stewart

Jack Stewart, 80, of Wellington, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at Via Christi Medical Center-St. Francis in Wichita. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2008, at the First Presbyterian Church in Wellington. Interment will be in the Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Wellington.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday. The family will greetfriends from 5-7 p.m. Online condolences may be made at www.hawksfuneralhome.com Arrangements are under the direction of the Hawks Funeral Home, Wellington.


Larenia M. Wallace

Larenia M. Wallace, 56, of Arkansas City, died Monday, April 28, 2008, at her residence. Private services will be held.

A full obituary will follow at a later time. Arrangements are under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City.
