Gunner Daniel Shultz

Gunner Daniel Shultz, 6, Winfield, died Wednesday, May 9, 2007, after a very hard fought battle with brain cancer. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 13, 2007, at the Peace Garden in Island Park in Winfield. In case of inclement weather, services will be held at the Winfield Middle School Gymnasium. Born Dec. 1, 2000, in Orlando, Fla., he was the son of Mark and Kelly (Atwater) Shultz. Gunner attended Imagine Preschool with Miss Amy Hutto as his teacher. He was homeschooled this past year. He was an honorary Legionnaire Rider with the Arkansas City Chapter Post No. 18. Survivors include his parents, Mark and Kelly Shultz, Winfield; brother, Zachary Shultz; sisters, Aspen and Sierra Shultz; grandparents, Randall and Pauline Shultz, Winfield, and Judy Atwater, Winfield; great-grandparents, Lawrence Shultz and Margaret Schmidt. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Dick Atwater.

Memorials have been established for the American Cancer Society and for Ronald McDonald Homes. Contributions may be made through the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Miles Funeral Service, Winfield.


Lois (Marshall) Stanaway

Lois (Marshall) Stanaway, 69, of Arkansas City, died Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at her brother's residence. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2007, in the Hope Cemetery. Pastor Gale Rider will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, and 9 a.m. until noon Monday. Lois was born Aug. 6, 1937, along with her twin brother, to A.K. and Thelma (Davis) Marshall in Winfield. She was reared and educated in Arkansas City, graduating from Arkansas City High School in 1955. She furthered her education at the Saint Francis Hospital and Nursing School to become an inhalation therapist. She retired from the Shared Medical Center of Alva, Okla. Survivors include her twin, Albert Marshall and brother, Edwin Marshall and his companion, Carolyn Epp, all of Arkansas City; nephew, Eddie Marshall; six nieces, Tammy Oliver, Sherra Cross, Melisa Myers, Keli Patterson, Mindy Marshall and Tara Burr; and several aunts, uncles, great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family suggests a memorial to Hospice Care of Kansas. Contributions may be made through the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home of Arkansas City. On-line condolences may be made at www.rindt-erdman.com.


Janet Moulton

Janet Moulton, 57, formerly of Arkansas City, died Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at the Ponca City Medica Center.

Arrangements are pending and under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City.


Sarah Helen Tackett

Sarah Helen Tackett, 72, Greensburg, formerly of Wellington, died Sunday, May 6, 2007, in Greensburg. Graveside memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2207, in the Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Wellington.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Hawks Fuenral Home, Wellington.
