Funeral services for Kay Rozell Hawkins, 87, Arkansas City, who died Wednesday, July 10, 2002, were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2002, at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City with Rev. Jerry Hooley officiating. Interment was in the Riverview Cemetery. Honorary casket bearers were the Arkansas City Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City.


Funeral services for Nadine May Williamson, 79, Arkansas City, who died Saturday, July 6, 2002, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at Maple City Community Church with Pastor Larry Womacks of the Maple City Community Church and Pastor Norman Reeves of the Dexter Christian Church officiating. Private interment services were held in the Maple City Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City.


Ruth Mary Cole Pollock, 84, died Wednesday, July 10, 2002, in Las Cruces, N.M. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at Holy Cross Church in Las Cruces. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2002, in Highland Cemetery, Winfield.

Arrangements were under the direction of Graham's Mortuary, Las Cruces, N.M. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home, Winfield.


Duana Berneice Grant Elder, Wichita, died Saturday (July 13, 2002) in Wichita, after a short illness. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2002, at the Chapel of Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Arkansas City with Pastor Joe E. Crowley of Calvary Chapel of Wellington, officiating. There will be no visitation. A memorial has been established with the Kansas Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Oxford Funeral Service, LLC, Oxford.


Margaret "Peggi" Jeanne Waltz, 82, Emporia, died Saturday, July 13, 2002, at the Presbyterian Manor in Emporia. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2002, at the First Presbyterian Church in Emporia with Rev. J. Gordon Bechtel officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday. A memorial has been established for Hand in Hand Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Charter Funerals- Emporia Chapel, Emporia.


Margaret E. (Paschal) Schnelle Norris, 85, Wellington, died Monday, July 15, 2002, at Beverly Health Care in Wellington. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2002, at Wellington Church of Christ with Stanten Sikes officiating. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Arkansas City. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday. A memorial has been established with the Wellington Church of Christ. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Frank Funeral Home, Wellington.


Thomas Joseph "Tom" Shorter, 60, Long Beach, Miss., died Friday, July 12, 2002, in Gulfport, Miss. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2002, in the Moline Cemetery with Lloyd G. Zimmerman officiating. Memorials have been established with the American Heart Association, or for the benefit of the family. Contributions may be made the through the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Zimmerman Funeral Home, Howard.


Ray Dwight Wilmeth, Jr., 79, Arkansas City, died Thursday, July, 11, 2002, at his residence. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2002, at the Mount Hope United Methodist Church near Geuda Springs, with Pastor Greg Linderberger and Pastor Doyle Wolf officiating. A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home, Arkansas City.


Vashti Tolbert, 77, Arkansas City, died Monday, July 15, 2002, at Via Christi-St. Francis Campus.

Anna F. Casey, 85, died Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at Samaritan Health Care in Moses Lake, Wash. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2002, at Nicoles Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Dr. Chester Dorsey officiating. Interment will be in Spokane Memorial Gardens in Spokane, Wash. Survivors include three daughters, Lola Fairchild, Manhattan, Billie Hersh, Ritzville, Wash., and Mary Muench of Yakima, Wash.; three brothers, Fred, Gene and Roger Smith of Kansas; seven grandchildren, Deborah Hansen, Becky Simbro, Beth Reider, Russell Hersh, David Hersh and Catherine and Joseph Muench; and seven great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Nicoles Funeral Home, Ephrata, Wash.
