Cowley County supports the local entrepreneur
With about a month to go, Kim Ebert has been preparing for the KEY Farm and Art Market. The market occurs on Arkansas City's downtown sidewalks on Thursdays from the beginning of June through the middle of September. As chairperson of the event, Ebert said that it provides local farmers, artists, crafters, and bakers an opportunity to sell their works to the community.

Creekstone recovering from mad cow scare
Last December marked the one-year anniversary of the discovery of a case of mad cow disease in this country. Nobody was celebrating, particularly not Bill Fielding, chief operating officer of the Creekstone Farms Premium Beef meatpacking plant in Arkansas City.

Ark City hospital hits snag
The $25 million project to build a new hospital to replace the one in Arkansas City could depend on what type facility is built. The proposed new hospital would be near Strother Field and would replace the one in Arkansas City.
