We need to invest in our kids

By CJ PERI
Parents' Night Out Director
Arkansas City

What is a vision? Basically it's predicting a desired future and coming up with a plan to make that future a reality. Thinking about the future without thinking about kids is futile. They are our future, right? Yet, what is being done to equip this next generation? The vision is simple; invest in kids! This vision will insure that our region's future is secure. There's no way to expect our future to become brighter if the kids are stuck in the same old set of circumstances with no opportunities for their minds, dreams, and visions to be expanded. We all want the very best for our kids, and it's my belief that it's our generation's job to make that future a reality.

This is one of the entries in the Traveler's visionary writing contest.
