Couisnard, Mekel lead Shockers past Bradley

PEORIA, Ill. (AP) -- P.J. Couisnard and Gal Mekel each had 19 points to lead Wichita State to an 80-73 win over Bradley on Saturday night.
Phillip Thomasson added 15 points for Wichita State (8-6, 1-2 Missouri Valley), which came back from a 37-29 halftime deficit on 69 percent second-half shooting.
Bradley (7-8, 0-3) shot just 38 percent for the game but stayed in the contest on the strength of 12 3-pointers, including five from Jeremy Crouch. The Shockers sank five 3-pointers.
Wichita State dominated the boards, outrebounding Bradley 38-22. The Shockers also held Bradley without a field goal for the last 3:08 of the game.
Crouch and Andrew Warren each scored 19 points for Bradley. Sam Maniscalco added 11 points for the Braves.
