Drug offender roundup continues

By JEANNE RICHARDSON
Courier Staff Writer

Thirteen of the 20 drug offenders that the Cowley County Drug Task Force set out to find on Tuesday were arrested and incarcerated.

Three of them, Michael Fagan, Garrett Weishaar and Jesse Adcock, were taken to the Sedgwick County Jail.

Jessica Saenz, Shawn Mantz, Greg Chattam, Felisha Mahoney, Wanda Steward and Laramie Miller, who were taken to the Cowley County Jail, are still incarcerated.

Jamie Perkins and David Wixon posted bond.

The task force is still searching for the remaining seven and has leads on their last place of residence. Those still at large are as follow: Glen Dale Berry Jr., Schylur Watson, Genna Wooten, Rachel Whitlock, Autumn Wooten, Kimberly Sartin, Joseph Reynolds, Patricia Dickey and Michael Rowe.

"We have not had much trouble finding the subjects so far," said Winfield Police Department investigator Robert Soto. "Some even turned themselves in."

Soto also said that there will be more warrants issued.

Second Amendment
Does the Second Amendment guarantee an individual's right to own a gun, as the Supreme Court recently ruled?

Yes, that was the intent of the founding fathers.
No, the founders were only talking about militias.
It's still unclear.
