Commissioners start looking at their goals
City commissioners are planning to hold a goal-setting session tonight after the work session meeting. Sometimes the work session goes too long, and if it does that goal setting session could be put off, Mayor Dotty Smith said this morning.
She hopes to set some goals for the city, or at least discuss what could become goals.
This is also the beginning of the budget process, which is starting much earlier this year than it has in previous years.
Items on the agenda include:
* Considering a resolution setting a public hearing to consider de-annexation of property request from Ark City Industries. This is the area where the Lowe's would have gone on the north side of town. Since the project has been shot down, there is no longer a need for annexation.
* Considering a resolution approving the sale of shares of Covista Medical Center, LLC to SCKRMC, and releasing Cardiovascular Hospitals of America, LLC from Covista Medical Center, LLC Agreements.
* Considering terms of sale for S. Summit Street property.
* Considering a resolution authorizing an amended contract with the Arkansas City Area Chamber of Commerce to operate a Convention and Visitors Bureau.
* Considering an ordinance modifying city code, revising governance of city boards.
* Mayor's appointments to various city boards.
