Main Streeters invited to program
PRESS RELEASE
The Kansas Destination Creation Workshop, by nationally recognized marketing consultant Jon Schallert, will be offered in Topeka on Wednesday, Jan. 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This workshop is for any business owner, manager or employee in Winfield who would like to change your business into a consumer destination to grow sales, traffic and profits.
The workshop is offered free of charge to attendees from Winfield as a benefit of being a Main Street community.
Are you a business owner looking to make your business a destination? Perhaps you own a winery, a bed and breakfast or a gift shop that you'd like to market to out-of-state travelers? Or maybe you're a community leader who wants to attract more consumers to your Main Street businesses?
If so, attend the Kansas Destination Creation Workshop. This intense full-day program is designed specifically for entrepreneurs who want to make their small business a destination. Facilitated by industry expert Jon Schallert, the workshop will teach you how to draw consumers from outside your region, compete with larger competitors and create consumer preference for downtown independent businesses.
The workshop is open to all small-business owners, rural retailers, entrepreneurs and community leaders who want to make their business or community a destination. This includes retailers, bed and breakfasts, spas, wineries, working ranches, historic sites, museums, natural landmarks and recreational facilities.
Attendees will learn how to:
*Increase a business's most valuable asset.
*Understand and address business stagnation.
*Get customers to remember a business name.
*Exploit the hidden weakness of superstores.
*Create compelling product niches and brand messages.
*Effectively utilize windows and storefronts.
*Integrate surprise into a store brand.
*Properly utilize Web sites and other technologies.
To register for the workshop, call Cathy at Winfield Main Street, 221-7888 or e-mail her at winfieldmainstreet@winfieldmainstreet.com. All entries must be received by Tuesday.
Attending this workshop free of charge is another advantage of having Winfield Main Street in your community.
