From CENTRAL CHRISTIAN CHURCH

Central Christian Church, First and Central, has now completed its sanctuary renovation project which began Aug. 5, 2006, when the worship services were moved from the worship sanctuary to Turner Fellowship Hall.

The project cost approximately $170,000 and money was raised by church members through three-year pledges.

Throughout the process, old carpeting was removed, all pews were removed, the platform at the front of the church was rebuilt and extended farther to the north, the old baptistery was removed and replaced with a one-piece fiberglass unit and a new design.

Don Wendt with Ecclesiastical Designs, Greenwood, Mo., completely redecorated and refurbished the interior of the sanctuary with extensive repairs, new design, new paint and artistic talent The pews were removed by Liturgical Design, Rome, Texas, and completely refinished to match the woodwork inside the sanctuary.

New carpeting has been installed. The Narthex boasts new furnishings and pictures. made possible by the youth of the church from the proceeds earned from their Christmas production. Everything is now back in place and ready for worship services to be resumed in this beautiful and astounding worship center.

Central Christian Church invites everyone to come to worship services on Sunday when this total work of art will be dedicated to the Lord.

From 1-3 p.m. there will be an Open House for all the community to view the worship center.

Second Amendment
Does the Second Amendment guarantee an individual's right to own a gun, as the Supreme Court recently ruled?

Yes, that was the intent of the founding fathers.
No, the founders were only talking about militias.
It's still unclear.
