Sanderholm scholarship passes $26,000

The Shanks Family/Jodi Sanderholm Memorial Scholarship at Cowley College, established in the memory of Don and Peggy Shanks' granddaughter, Jodi Sanderholm, has received more than $26,000 in contributions.

The scholarship is an endowed scholarship and will be awarded annually to a Cowley student. The recipient of the scholarship must be enrolled in a science curriculum; be a full-time student enrolled in 12 or more hours; and maintain at least a 2.5 grade point average.

The scholarship committee at Cowley College will make the final selection of recipients of the award. The first award will be given for the 2007 fall semester.

Those interested in making a donation to the Shanks Family/Jodi Sanderholm Memorial Scholarship can send donations to the Cowley College Endowment Association located at 125 S. Second St., Arkansas City, KS., 67005. For more information please contact Terri Morrow, Cowley College Dean of Development and College Relations, at (620) 441-5291.

Sanderholm, a 19-year-old Arkansas City native, was a member of the Cowley College Tigerette Danceline and a pre-pharmacy major. The former Arkansas City high School valedictorian had a 4.0 grade point average at Cowley.
