State officer endorses Clinton

By DAVE SEATON
Winfield Publishing

Teresa Krusor, of Winfield, vice chair of the state Democratic Party, endorsed Sen. Hillary Clinton for president Thursday.

Krusor made the endorsement in a telephone conference call with members of the Kansas press.

"I'm really worried about where we've been these last eight years," Krusor said. "I'm very concerned about experience. Sen. Clinton has a plan for bringing our troops home from Iraq. She can jump right in and get the job done."

Krusor's comments came as the Clinton campaign announced the candidate would host a "town meeting" via satellite Monday evening.

The site for supporters to discuss issues and come up with a question for Sen. Clinton has been moved to the Broadview Hotel, 400 E. Douglas. The event is scheduled from 6 to 9. This is the only such gathering site in Kansas, Krusor said.

Sen. Clinton is scheduled to appear via satellite television at 8. She plans to respond to questions from states voting on Super Tuesday, Feb. 5, including Kansas, according to Krusor.

She expects some of Clinton's Kansas campaign leaders including Joan Wagnon, secretary of revenue, and Dan Lykins, to attend.

This could not be confirmed Friday morning.

Clinton will host the event from New York City. Her husband, former president Bill Clinton, and their daughter, Chelsea, along with other surrogates, will host at other locations, according to Krusor.

"This is a unique opportunity not only to ask questions of Hillary Clinton," Krusor said, "but also to learn what voters in other states think."

Krusor grew up in Arkansas City. She has served as chair of the Cowley County Democrats, as vice chair of her party in the Fourth Congressional District and secretary of the state party.

Her husband, Mark, is a Winfield attorney.

For more information on Monday's events, contact Jason Dilts, executive secretary of the Sedgwick County Democratic Party, at (316) 262-7534 or go to: www.sedgwickcountydemocrats.com.

Krusor may be reached at (620) 221-0595.
