Garret Jones wrestles in a match at the Rose Hill tournament. For the second straight year, the Arkansas City wrestling team placed third Saturday at the Rose Hill tournament.

Scott Elliott and Garrett Jones won individual titles at 171 and 112 pounds, respectively.

After coasting through the quarter- and semifinals, Jones earned a close 10-9 decision in the final.

Elliott didn't need to work as hard as Jones recording a technical fall in his first match, then pinned three straight opponents to win the 171-pound title.

Clint Bruce placed second at 189 pounds, losing to three-time defending state champion Romero Cotton of Hutchinson by a 25-10 technical fall in the final.

Aaron Hoag placed third at 125 pounds, Cameron Riojas fourth at 160, Derby won the team title with 228 points and Valley Center (178) placed second.
