No serious injuries reported in four-car accident near Newkirk
From STAFF REPORTS
A four-car accident Thursday afternoon on U.S. 77 about three miles north of Newkirk resulted in no serious injuries, an Oklahoma Highway Patrol spokesman said today.
The patrol officer had no details on the accident and could not say how many people were injured. "Everybody injured was treated and released," he said.
The accident occurred about 4 p.m. on U.S. 77 and Bender Road, he said.
Newkirk Herald Journal reporter Scott Cloud arrived at the scene after the accident had been cleaned up and said he saw skid marks indicating that the main part of the accident occurred in northbound lanes.
"The deputy said two vehicles were pretty badly damaged," he said.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol does not give immediate details for non-injury accident.
