Police and emergency medical personnel work the scene of a two-vehicle accident shortly after noon Tuesday at Summit Street and Virginia.

Isabel Demaree, 78, of Arkansas City, was injured in the collision and was taken to South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center. She was admitted to the hospital and was listed in fair condition today, a hospital spokesman said.

According to police, she was southbound on Summit Street, making a left turn onto Virginia when her car and a northbound pickup truck collided.

Driver of the pickup was Scott Margolius, of Ark City, who is a city commissioner.
