Cowley softball sweeps Rose State

By RAMA PEROO
Cowley College

Getting solid starts on the mound from Heather Davis and Jacey Juden, and compiling 25 hits in two games, the No. 8-ranked Cowley College softball team swept a doubleheader against Rose State College Wednesday at Lady Tiger Field.

Davis (4-0) struck out 15 in a 5-0 win of game one, while Juden (2-2) allowed just two runs in a 10-2 six-inning run rule of the nightcap.

Freshman Kashilia Young continued her torrid hitting as she homered in each game and now has four home runs on the season. Young went 6-for-7 with four runs batted in the doubleheader.

Danielle Saylor-Perkins went 3-for-3 with two RBI's in the first game, while Juden and Young each had three hits in the second game. Breayle Tackett and Colby Hart added two hits as Cowley had 15 hits in the win of game two.

The Lady Tigers are now 6-2 on the season. Cowley will play a pair of games today in Fort Scott. The Lady Tigers will play Fort Scott at 1 p.m. and Allen County at 2:45 p.m.
