School bond issue votes being counted

Voting on the USD 470 School Bond Issue closed today at noon. Approximately 4,000 ballots were submitted.
County Clerk Karen Brooks said that the vote count will start at around 1 p.m. She is hopeful that the counting will be completed this evening by 6 p.m.
A board of twelve election workers from Ark City will do the tally. Brooks said that there will be three tables of four workers per table who will count and recount the votes.
She said that results will be posted on the county Web site at www.cowleycounty.org.
The plan is to post the tally on the web mid -way through the count, mid afternoon, and then post the final vote count sometime this evening.
