HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) -- Southern Miss has signed a deal to play Kansas in football in 2009 and 2010.

Southern Miss athletic director Richard Giannini said Wednesday that the Golden Eagles will play the Jayhawks on Sept. 26, 2009, in Lawrence, Kan. Kansas will play in Hattiesburg on Sept. 8, 2010.

Kansas went 12-1 last season. The Jayhawks defeated Virginia Tech 24-21 in the Orange Bowl and finished No. 7 in the country.

Kansas will be the third Big 12 team to visit Roberts Stadium since 2000, joining Oklahoma State and Nebraska.
