This Saturday, 69 rival spellers from across the state will be gathered at Barton County Community College in Great Bend to compete for the opportunity to represent the region at the week-long Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., this May.

A press release with results will be posted on the Great Bend Tribune's Web site: www.gbtribune.com/bee after completion of the Bee and as soon as reasonably feasible.

Representing Cowley County will be Alec Trent, of Arkansas City.
