Presbyterians celebrate Easter

As God's marvelous love shown in Jesus Christ is considered, First Presbyterian Church, at 321 S. First St., invites you to worship and celebrate.

The Holy Week services begin at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, with a processional carrying palm fronds. At 7 p.m. Thursday, the congregation will focus on the gathering of the disciples with Jesus for the "last supper" as they worship in the sanctuary.Communion will be served.A service of darkness and remembering how Jesus died will be at 7 p.m. Good Friday, in the church chapel.

On Easter Sunday, the First Presbyterian Church will celebrate the glory of Christ's resurrection beginning with a sunrise service at 7:30 a.m. at the home of the pastors, Joyce and Danny Daniel, 2817 E. Birch Ave. The cross will be decorated by the church children and youth with flowers at 8 a.m. at the church followed by a tasty breakfast at 9 a.m.

Please call the church office for reservations.

Children will be treated to an Easter egg hunt at 9:45 a.m., which will be followed by a celebration of worship and fellowship time at 10:30 a.m. Nursery will be provided.

The youth groups will be selling cinnamon rolls from the Dutch Mill Bakery in Yoder as a fundraiser. These very large rolls are $6 a package.

Second Amendment
Does the Second Amendment guarantee an individual's right to own a gun, as the Supreme Court recently ruled?

Yes, that was the intent of the founding fathers.
No, the founders were only talking about militias.
It's still unclear.
