Winfield's Henderson does well at nationals

POCATELLO, Idaho -- The Dodge National Circuit Finals Rodeo was good to Winfield's Shane Henderson.
The local steer wrestler downed four steers and earned $7,227 for roughly 30 seconds of work.
Competing against 23 other steer wrestlers from across the country, Henderson struggled in the first round with a time of 11.1, finishing out of the money. However, he came back and won the second round in 4.2.
The win was good for $3,613 and enabled him to qualify for the semifinals.
Henderson had another solid run in the semifinals, taking second with a time of 4.6 and collecting another $2,710.
Advancing to the finals, Henderson had a little tough luck and stopped the clock in 13.8 to place fourth and earn an additional $903.
The event was won by Gregory Bennett of Lake Luzerne, N.Y.
This is Henderson's second trip to the DNCFR. He also qualified in 2001.
