Cedar Vale preparing for spring festival

CEDAR VALE -- Things are gearing up in Cedar Vale as the Chamber of Commerce makes final plans for the 12th Annual Spring Fling.

It once again will provide entertainment starting at 7 p.m. on April 27 with a Women's Ranch Rodeo. Cedar Vale is proud to host one of the few women's sanctioned events that is held each year. You can finish your evening dancing to the Sivilians, a local band that plays the best of '80s and '90s rock.

On Saturday, the 28th, you won't lack for things to do with a classic car show that draws cars from across Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri.

Barbecue entries need to be checked in by 8 a.m. on the day of cooking.

The aroma in the park is sure to entice everyone to stay for the barbecue dinner, which will start being served at 5 p.m.

The Men's Ranch Rodeo will start at 1 p.m. During the afternoon, there will also be horseshoe pitching and kids games.

To complete your day, plan to listen to the best blues around with Moreland and Arbuckle.

On Sunday, watch the kids have fun and compete in the Junior Rodeo starting at 1 p.m. Plan to attend the Lawn Mower Pulls. This will be the second time for this event to be held in Cedar Vale. The Lawn Mower Pulls also start at 1 p.m.
