Cowley names science lab after Jodi

By RAMA PEROO
Cowley College

Honoring a young woman whose grace and passion for life touched all who knew her, Cowley College dedicated it's science lab in memory of Jodi Sanderholm on Friday.

Sanderholm, a 19-year-old Arkansas City native, was a member of the Cowley College Tigerette Danceline and a pre-pharmacy major. The former Arkansas City high School valedictorian had a 4.0 grade point average at Cowley.

Sanderholm won the Outstanding Physics Student of the Year Award as a senior at Arkansas City High School.

The Shanks Family/Jodi Sanderholm Scholarship was established in February. The scholarship is an endowed scholarship and will be awarded annually to a Cowley student.

The recipient of the scholarship must be enrolled in a science curriculum; be a full-time student enrolled in 12 or more hours; and maintain at least a 2.5 grade point average.

Those interested in making a donation to the Shanks Family/Jodi Sanderholm Memorial Scholarship can send donations to the Cowley College Endowment Association located at 125 S. Second St., Arkansas City, KS., 67005. For more information please contact Terri Morrow, Cowley College Dean of Development and College Relations, at (620) 441-5291.
