Hillcrest Lanes in Arkansas City is home to the Div. 2 first place team in the Women1s State Bowling Tournament held in Kansas City. The women bowled March 15-16, 2008, although the tournament ran through May.

Team members of 'Call The Sheriff' are Margarita Garay of Ark City, and Trish Wallrabenstein, Janet Garoutte, Terri Wells and Cyndee Unger, all of Winfield.

This was Margarita and Janet's first time to bowl in a state tournament.

In the team event, Margarita bowled 140 pins over series average and 75 pins over individual average.

In the singles event, Cyndee Unger rolled a 220.

The team gets its name from the phrase so often repeated after burying the ball in the pocket yet leaving a single pin standing: Call the sheriff; we've been robbed!

The team is smiling today, however. (Pictured) Kneeling, from left: Cyndee Unger, Janet Garoutte. Standing, from left: Margarita Garay, Trish Wallrabenstein, Terri Wells.
