From STAFF REPORTS

The second annual Ford's Gone MAD weekend was held Saturday at Mid-America Dragway. The field was divided into three classes: 5.0, Street Tire and Open.

Mike Peters of Geuda Springs won the 5.0 class. Terry Carlson of Edmond, Okla. was the runner-up. Tim Barrett of Lincoln, Neb. won the street tire class. Brent Beck of Beloit, Kan. was the runner-up. Larry Kunkel of Ark City won the open class.

Three special events were also held Saturday. Barrett was crowned King of the Track, while Darcel Andreae of Winfield was Queen of the Track.

Andreae also won the Powderpuff race. Rae Holman of Stillwater, Okla. was the runner-up.

All of the drivers who competed Saturday at the Dragway were entered for a chance to compete in the Lucky 16 race, a 16-driver bracket race that was unannounced in the event's flyer and meant to be a surprise to the drivers.

Marlana Mills of Ark City won the race. Mark Downs of Edmond, Okla. was the runner-up.
