Theft subject of July crimestoppers

The Board of Directors of the Cowley County Crime Stoppers Inc. has approved the following for Crime/s of the month for July 2008.

Judy Haggard was the victim of burglary and theft at 319 S. Main, Atlanta, Kan., on two separate occasions. Sometime between the dates of June 29 and July 2, unknown suspect/s entered the business located at the above address through the rear door. Taken from the business was $25 in five dollar bills. There was also $50 damage done to the door.

Then again sometime between July 2, and July 5, the same building was entered by unknown suspect/s through the same rear door. According to the victim, there did not appear to be anything missing from this burglary. There was however approximately $50 damage done to the door again.

The Cowley County Sheriff's Office is asking for assistance from anyone who may have information about these crimes.

Cowley County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for these crimes.

If you have information concerning this crime or any other crime, please call Crime Stoppers at (620) 442-7777 in Arkansas City or 221-7777 in Winfield. You may also submit information on line anonymously at www.tipsubmit.com. You could be eligible for a reward and remain anonymous.
