Arkansas City High School seniors cheer during the first pep assembly of the 2008 school year today at ACHS.

Many students were honored today at the pep assembly for their academic achievements. A total of 67 students were given letters for academics.

Former freshman were awarded for having a 3.75 grade point average and no school suspensions, former sophomores 6.5 GPA and no suspensions and former juniors 3.5 GPA and no suspensions.

Seniors were: Ellie Adamson, Travis Bailey, Valerie Bland, Daniel Byers, Kianne Campbell, Hannah Graves, Tepestt Gunter, Tim Hewitt, John Kuffler, Siera Lungren, Greg Newland, Erin Osterthun, Kathleen Phillips, Shelby Scott, Katelyn Shaw, Jade Sparks, Kyle Swanson, Erica Tackett, Edgar Tafolla, Emily Walker and Jonathan Wallace.

Juniors receiving a letter were: Chase Barker, Mikayla Beauchamp, Jose Bedolla, Drew Bennett, Brian Biggerstaff, Amanda Bilyeu, Shane Borror, Melanie Bruce, Lupita Cabellero, Curtis Cook, Ethan Ellis, Gabrielle Espinosa, Scott Gibson, Bree Mars, Devin Metzinger, Harlee Musselman, Courtney Oakley, Drew Palmer, Austin Pike, Katy Richerson and Adrea Sweetwood.

Sophomores receiving letters were: Rachel Bazil, Wesley Bland, Kailin Brown, Brent Burroughs, Nicholas Crain, William Duren, Nicole Fiorentino, Kaitlin Ford, Savannah Hardister, Trevor Harris, Hannah Holloway, Rachel McAfee, Zachary McDowell, Talia McNickle, Cody McNulty, Jennifer Mendez, Stephanie Palmer, Abbey Ramirez, John Seitz, Jacob Silliman, Lacey Tipton, Samantha Turner, Mariah Vargas and Brandon Young.
