The annual budget hearing for the Arkansas City Public School District's 2008-09 budget will be at 7 p.m. today at the USD 470 Central Offices at 2545 Greenway.

Adoption of the budget is the first action item on the agenda.

Other action items include:

* Investment of bond proceeds in a $35.8 million school bond issue for a district-wide schools improvement project.

* Ratification of the 2008-09 master contract for teachers.

* Approval of a 3.5 percent increase to classified employee staff salaries.
