5 Man Trio begins Caffe Acoustic concert series

Five Man Trio will kick off the Caffe Acoustic Concert Series 7:30 p.m. Thursday, at Brown's, 225 S. Summit. The concert is free and the public is invited to attend this performance of original acoustic music.

The trio has performed together for three years and has recorded two cd's: "You Do The Math" and "Roam With the Buffalo."

They have performed at Riverfest, the Kansas State Fair, Prairiefest, and are regular performers at the Silverton Jubilee in Silverton Colorado, the El Dorado Iron Horse, Hutchinson's Metropolitan, and the Artichoke in Wichita.

The music of the 5 Man Trio is written by Dave Bostwick and Gary Gackstatter and ranges from blues to Latin to rock and folk and everything in between. Mayer brings his vast knowledge of world percussion traditions to the group, giving them a unique sound.
