Parcher paces South Haven

CEDAR VALE -- Senior Jake Parcher scored four touchdowns and the South Haven Cardinals racked up 356 rushing yards Friday in a 66-18 victory over the Cedar Vale Broncos in South Central Border League 8-man football action.

The win put the Cardinals (4-1) in the lead in the 8-man D-II District 4 playoff race.

Parcher scored first-quarter touchdowns on runs of 10 and 22 yards as South Haven opened a 30-0 lead. Parcher equaled the feat in the third quarters, hitting paydirt from 1 and 27 yards out.

Mason Ridgeway added a pair of scores for the Cards, one on a 50-yard TD run and the other on a 21-yard interception return.

Christian Howell rushed for 111 yards on just nine carries to lead South Haven Parcher finished with 96 yards on 10 carries and quarterback Nathen Yunker chipped in 51 yards on three totes. Yunker was 4 of 6 for 73 yards.

The Cardinals resume District 4 play Friday at Argonia. Cedar Vale travels to Dexter.
