Arkansas City Commissioner Patrick McDonald was recovering today at a Wichita hospital after he passed out Saturday at his downtown bookstore.
McDonald was air-lifted to Via Christi Medical Center -- St. Francis Campus that evening after being treated at South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center, his brother, Ralph McDonald, said late this morning.
"He's doing pretty good," Ralph McDonald, owner of McDonald's Computer Service, said late this morning. "We expect he'll be home tomorrow, but it will be limited what he could do."
Ralph's store is located just a few blocks north on Summit from his brother Patrick's store, McDonald's Vacuum Center and Used Books.
A customer in the store noticed Patrick slumping over and called McDonald's mother, then an ambulance was called.
Ralph said his brother has pneumonia and a couple of other conditions. His blood sugar tested high, he said.
