Locals competing at Wrangler National Finals

Stockton Graves, Newkirk, and Jerome Schneeberger, Ponca City, are currently competing in the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Graves fell 0.1 seconds short of earning a paycheck in Round 1 of steer wrestling on Thursday. He finished seventh, tying a steer in 4.6 seconds.

Graves is currently second in the Wrangler Tour standings in steer wrestling, having earned $49,424.77 this year.

Schneeberger, meanwhile, finished fourth in Round 1 of tie-down roping. He accomplished the feat in 9.1 seconds, earning a paycheck of $6,875.

Schneeberger is currently 14th in the Wrangler Tour standings in tie-down roping, having earned $23,001.50.

The Wrangler National Finals Rodeo runs through Dec. 15, with ESPN2 providing coverage.

Round 3 will be aired tonight at 11 p.m. on ESPN2.
