Graves places fourth at Wrangler National Finals Rodeo

Stockton Graves, of Newkirk, hoped to build on the momentum gained after winning Round 7 in steer wrestling last Tuesday at the Wrangler Finals National Rodeo at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.
But Graves couldn't place higher than sixth in the final three rounds, as he finished fourth. Overall, he earned $49,182.67 and accumulated a steer wrestling average of 51.7 seconds.
Graves was in third place after seven rounds, trailing Jason Miller by only 4.9 seconds. But Miller earned paychecks over the final three rounds to win the steer wrestling title Friday night.
Jerome Schneeberger, of Ponca City, finished sixth in tie-down roping. Schneeberger earned $33,052.88 and accumulated a tie-down roping average of 96.6 seconds.
