One arrested in drug bust

An Arkansas City man was arrested Wednesday during a Cowley County Drug Task Force (DTF) 24-hour surveillance operation, according to a press release from the Cowley County Sheriff's Office.

Steven Russell Helms, 52, of Arkansas City, was arrested for manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine-manufacturing precursors, transporting anhydrous ammonia in an illegal container, felony obstruction of the legal process and criminal trespass.
