State Rep. Kasha Kelley (second from right), R-Arkansas City, receives an award from the National Federation of Independent Businesses of Kansas for her support of business issues in the State Legislature.

The award was presented by (from left) Ken Daniel, past chairman of the NFIB/Kansas; Hal Hudson, state director of the NFIB and Steve Abrams, of Arkansas City, also a past chairman of the group.

Kelley said she was "truly touched to receive the award." She said small businesses are "the backbone of America."
